Subject: Data For the Day September 2016
During pre-planning, we addressed our school's requirement to submit a report in explaining the increase in referrals.
Today's data represents a significant decrease in referrals in the month of August!
It is important to note that the reduction still represents an increase from two years ago.
Looking at some other data, here are some recomendations to insure that referrals are being placed for the right reason.
1. Over 30% of our referrals occur after 3pm! With the increase in our afternoon time, it is important that we maintain structure, organized and meaningful activities at the end of each day.
2. Over 40% of our referrals are given for disruptive and defiant behavior. Be sure that we are applying teaching interactions as opposed to assigning II.
3. The majority of our referrals occur in the classroom (which is how it should be distributed); however, third on the list is bus tickets! While this appears to be out of our control, we can be pro-active in incorporating bus behavior on our point sheets.
